Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Jun. 10, 2005 edition Jewel Miriam (Massey) Tackitt WORTHAM - Funeral services for Mrs. Jewel Miriam Massey Tackitt, 91, longtime Wortham resident, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in Porter Chapel-Wortham. The Reverends Mike Fautts and Steve Schulte, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wortham Cemetery. Mrs. Tackitt, who died Wednesday in Wortham Rehabilitation Center, was born at Calvert on Jan. 20, 1914. She was married to Ceburn Tackitt on Nov. 19, 1932, and they resided in the Wortham area for most of their married years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wortham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ceburn Tackitt; by two brothers, Manley Massey and Harold Massey, and by her parents, Thomas and Ethel Massey. Visitation is scheduled for this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Porter Chapel-Wortham. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Marles Pace of Wortham; two sons and daughters-in-law, C.A. and Carlene Tackitt of Mexia, Leland an d Robin Tackitt of Gardfield, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Leslie Tackitt, Clark Pace and Kari Brinkman; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Neelley of Clifton; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Charles Watson, Robert Tackitt, Ronnie Jack Smiley, Randy Butler, Larry Williams and Kenneth Pace.
