William Evans Talley

William Evans Talley, 93, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Saturday morning, 
March 19, 2005.

Born June 16, 1911, in Freestone County, Texas, he enjoyed a long and wonderful 
life. He retired as an electrical engineer from Dow Chemical Co. He was active 
and faithful in the First Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge, 
1370 AF&AM, both of Lake Jackson. His good nature, sense of humor and 
friendship will be missed by many.

He joins his wife of 71 years, Rae, and his oldest son, William Evans II.

He is survived by his brother, Max E. Talley, and wife, Mary Alice, of San 
Antonio, Texas.

Evans leaves two sons, James E. (Sharon) and Joe D. (Teresa), three grandsons, 
William Evans Talley III (Allison), Justin William Talley and Brian Joseph 
Talley (Anel), along with granddaughters Michelle Williams (Brian) and Brittany 
and Brandi Etheridge. He leaves five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and 
nephews and a host of good friends.

Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral 
services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson at 10 a.m. 
Tuesday, March 22, 2005, with Dr. John Hatch officiating and Dr. Jerl Watkins 
assisting.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist 
Church building fund or Masonic Lodge 1370, both in Lake Jackson, or the charity 
of your choice.
