Graveside Rites At Woodland For Tom P Talley

  Graveside rites were held at Woodland Cemetery Wednesday afternoon for Tom P. 
Talley. Mr. Talley, 97, died at Delaney Memorial Horne in Palestine Tuesday 
morning at 11:45. He was born and reared in Freestone County where he lived most
of his life.  He was one of The Recorder's oldest subscribers. 
  Survivors include one son, Ernest Talley, of Huntsville, and other relatives.
  Mr. and Mrs. Nat Harding and Mr. and Mrs. J M Harper of Palestine were among 
those attending services.

          Kirvin News

  The people, of Kirvin were saddened when word reached here last Tuesday of the 
death of Tom P. Talley, a pioneer citizen of Kirvin and Freestone County. He and 
his family came to Kirvin when Kirvin was a very young town. Mr. Talley owned and 
operated the telephone business in Kirvin, for a number of years. Mr. Talley has
many friends In Kirvin and Freestone County who are grieved at his passing. The
Talley family were good friends of this writer.
