Teague Pioneer, C. C. Talley, Buried Here Tuesday

  Charles Coleman Talley, pioneer citizen of Freestone county, died Monday at 
7:30 a.m. at is home near Teague at the age of 73 years. Funeral services were 
conducted at Ham's Funeral Chapel, Tuesday 3:30 p'.m., with Rev. H. L. McKissack 
officiating.
  Burial was in Salem Cemetery. Ham Brothers were in charge of arrangements.
  Mr. Talley was born near Fairfield, October 27, 1879. He married Miss Ophelia
Gault, Feb. 4, 1906, and to this union was born four boys and one girl. 
  Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Clifton, of Houston, Thomas, Bryan, 
Gault, Penslcola, Fla., and a daughter, Mrs. Marie Sehffield [sic?, Scheffield?], 
Mt. Vernon, Ill. One son preceded him in death. Ten grandchildren and one great-
grandchild, a brother Ernest Talley, Huntsville, and his father, Tom P. Talley, 
of Palestine.
  He was a member of the Eighth Avenue Baptist church, where he attended until 
he became ill several months ago. Mr. Talley moved his family to Teague in 1908 
and lived in and near Teague until his death.
  The pallbearers were, Bobby Jones, Stovall Allison, Bob Keys, Jimmie Hendrix, 
Archie Rogers, Bill Orand and. E. E. Talley.

Houston.
Irene Baker and Scott, Fort Worth; Miss Mary Fae ??? of Houston; Mr. and Mrs.
??? Rogers, Mexia. 
  J. H. Sheffield, Mr. and Sheffield, Chesley ???? all of Fort Worth.
