Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle Dec. 10, 2009 issue BRIAN EDWARD SIPES-TANNER A memorial service for Mr. Brian Edward Sipes-Tanner, 29, was held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Dawson, Texas. Bro. Les Montoya officiated and a graveside service followed at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman. Brian was born in Hobbs, New Mexico but moved to Fairfield where he grew up and attended school. He was a construction worker and worked on numerous projects all over Texas. One of his jobs was hanging the numerous green signs along and above the interstate highways. Mr. Sipes-Tanner was a hard worker, but always made time to help people in need. He also was known for tinkering with electronics and learning how they worked. Mr. Sipes-Tanner was preceded in death by his grandmother Judith Hazen and his aunt Rita Joplin. He is survived by his parents Thelma and William Sipes of Teague; his sisters Kimberly DuBose and husband Lance of Dawson, Geneva Ward and husband Daniel of Temple, Regina Floyd and husband Danny of Lepanto, Arkansas, Denice Joplin of Teague, Jessica Latham of Kirvin and Stephanie Quiroz of new Orleans, Louisiana; his grandparents Ralph Hazen of Fairfield and DeLane and Diane Joplin of Eastland; his great Grandmother Thelma Fisher of Waco; nieces and nephews Lane DuBose, Bailey DuBose, Andrew Sipes, Megan Ward, Bradley Sipes and LaKeashia Sipes; his father Edward L. Tanner and wife Becky of Whitney; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
