   DIED

   Mr. John H. Tatum, a well known and highly respected citizen who lived near 
Dew, died last Saturday night of pneumonia, after an illness of eight or ten 
days. The deceased was one of Freestone's best farmer citizens, and his death 
is a great loss to his family and community. He was an honorable, upright 
Christian gentleman, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Besides two 
brothers, he leaves a wife and several children to feel the great loss of 
husband and father. His remains were interred last Sunday evening at the Driver 
grave-yard near Hicks Springs.
