Lewis Taylor, Jr. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Texas, among loving family and devoted friends. A viewing was held Friday, May 17, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home at 406 Monroe Street in Teague, Texas and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St John’s Baptist Church at 200 T A Carroll Avenue in Corsicana, Texas. Funeral Services were on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church On The Rock at 1470 Hwy 14 North in Groesbeck, TX. Rev. L. B. Perry officiated and Rev. Reginald Edmonson was the Eulogist. Interment followed at the Lone Star Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas. Reverend Lewis Taylor Jr. was born the 2nd child to Lewis Taylor, Sr. and Minerva Williams in Kaufman, Texas on October 25, 1935. Rev. Taylor attended Kaufman Public Schools and was baptized in Corinth Baptist Church by Rev. Paul Curry. He married Delores Pill and later Vivian Burgess. He was employed by U.S. Silica and retired in 1998. He was the Pastor of St John’s Baptist Church at 200 T A Carroll Avenue in Corsicana, Texas. Lewis was preceded in death by his Parents; his sisters: Pearlie Mae Watson and Merlene Williams. Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife Vivian Taylor of Mexia, Texas; his daughters: Corletta Renee’ Burgess and Jessica Lynn Taylor, both of Mexia, Texas; his brothers: Robert Edmonson and wife Ollie B. and Charles Edmonson of Dallas, Texas; Joe Edmonson of Corsicana, Texas; his sisters: Gertrude Harris of Dallas, Texas; Jurline Greggs and husband Lawrence, Sr. of Corsicana, Texas; Ollie Mae Smith and husband Elcir of Malakoff, Texas; his Aunt: Betty McCoy of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren: Aiyana Cantu, Alexander (Bubba) Cantu, Akai Rogers; and his good friend: Richard Johnson.
