TX - Obit for Townsend Clark Jr. Teague Chronicle newspaper - October 5, 1995 - Page 4: "Graveside Services were held Saturday at 10 A.M. September 30, 1995 at Greenwood Cemetery for Townsend Clark Jr. Rev Robert Besser officiated. Mr. Clark was born October 26, 1909 to Mrs. Josie Sims Clark and Townsend Clark, Sr. in Teague, Texas and passed away on Wednesday Septebmer 27th at McGee Nursing home. He was preceded in death by his wife Mayme Lile Beasley in 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Clark graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston, attended Tyler Commercial College and was employed for a number of years in the office as the City Secretary of Teague. He was one of seven trustees who began in 1966 to provide a new hospital for Teague. He served his community for many years and had an outstanding reputation and personality. Mr. Clark and he brother, Rhea Clark owned "Clark and Clark Insurance Co." He was co-owner of Teague Brike Compnay. He invented a nut cracker. He belonged to the Rotary Club and Lions Club. Suvivors include: one sister Mrs. Mildred Diemart of Teague, a niece Mrs Judy Chandler of Dallas, severaly nieces and nephews by marriage. He was engaged to Jaynne Millender Mabry."
