Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder - January 13, 2011 JULIUS THOMAS Funeral services will be held Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple in Fairfield for Julius Thomas, 72, of Fairfield who died Jan. 7 at his home surrounded by his family. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Fairfield. Mr. Thomas was born June 29, 1938 in Freestone county to Julius and Mary Lewis Thomas. He attended Dogan high school and at an early age, he united with Long Chapel Methodist Church and later with Faith Temple in Fairfield. Mr. Thomas met and married Estella Butcher and together they had two daughters and one son. He also had three stepchildren with that marriage. Later Mr. Thomas met and married Evelyn Mack and together they had one son. This marriage brought him two step-children. In 1961, he entered the military where he spent nine years serving time in the Republic of Vietnam. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; brother Willie Jay; stepdaughter Laura; and stepson Craig. He is survived by children Jean Randle and husband Reuben, Shellia Bluitt and husband Wilford, Lester Thomas and wife Grace, and Robert Thomas and wife Jennifer; a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sisters Rosie Thomas, Ida Livingston and husband Dogan, Margaret Thomas and Mary Ann Thomas; brothers Sam Thomas and wife Betty, David Thomas and wife Judy, John Thomas and wife SoCha, Mike Thomas and wife Mary Nell, and special brother Glen Harris; stepchildren Craig, Joseph, Michael and Dereak; and a host of other family and friends including special friend Francis Thomas. Officiating services is the Reverend Jonathan Reagor. Making arrangements is Ross and Johnson Mortuary of Corsicana.
