George Thomas

George Thomas, 71, of Streetman passed away Thursday, April 26, 2001 at his 
residence. 

Visitation will be noon to 4:30 p.m. at Ross and Johnson Mortuary and 6 to 7 
p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church today. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Second Mission Baptist Church with the Rev.
Joe Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in 
Streetman. 

Pallbearers will be family and friends. 

Mr. Thomas was born Nov. 25, 1929 in Hemphill, Texas. He was a member of 
Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School 
superintendent and a member of the choir. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thomas. 

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Frances Thomas of Streetman; two sons,
George Thomas Jr. and his finance Constant Gay, and Anthony Thomas, all of 
Houston; four daughters, Marie Thomas and Brenda Grace, both of Houston, Joyce
LaJean of Jasper and Marva Nwachukwu of Dallas; 13 grandchildren, including 
Lesonia Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; one aunt, Nettie Singleton of 
Hemphill; and numerous other relatives.
