Nobye Thomas
(June 4, 1910 - April 26, 2007)


Funeral services for Mrs. Nobye Thomas were held on Sunday April 29, 2007 at 
2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jewett. Interment followed the service 
at Sardis Cemetery. Rev. James Engle and Rev. Billy Bob Evans officiated. 
Mrs. Thomas passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007 at East Texas Medical Center
in Fairfield. She was born near Pleasant Ridge in Leon County and graduated 
from Jewett High School in 1928. Mrs. Thomas was a seamstress and homemaker 
all of her life. She was a faithful Christian all her life and was a member 
of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Houston and previously a member of Ephesus 
Baptist Church before moving to Houston. She is survived by her children; 
Anita Alexander of Dallas, Kenneth (Sonny) Thomas & wife Linda of Magnolia, 
Mary Virginia Johnson & husband Glendel of Jewett, James Hamp Thomas & wife 
Dusty of Cold Springs, twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, 
eight great-great grandchildren & sister-in-law, Mable Robeson. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Kennie Thomas, her parents, Stella & Hamp
Robeson and two brothers, Morris Robeson & Wade Robeson.
