BIOGRAPHY
John Holmes Thompson, 63, of Fairfield, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his 
residence. 

Mr. Thompson was born September 14, 1948 in Camden, New Jersey to parents, 
John and Elizabeth Price Thompson. He retired in 1987 from the U.S. Navy as a 
First Class Petty Officer. Mr. Thompson had been a Freestone County resident 
since 1993. He married his wife Geraldine on September 6, 1996 in Fairfield. 
He enjoyed playing golf and was very proud of his over thirty years of 
successful membership in A.A. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Geraldine; a son, John H. Thompson, III 
of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Elizabeth March of New Jersey; four step-
children, Glen Young of Buffalo; Jerry Young and wife Joanna of Fairfield; 
Glenda Bruce and husband Mark of Moncks Corner, SC; Twila Olive and husband 
Steve of Winnsboro, TX; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren 
along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews in New Jersey.
