Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Corsicana Daily Sun newspaper Jan 9, 2007 issue Ella (McMichael) Thompson-Lott Jun 20, 1927 - Jan 6, 2007 Ella Thompson Lott Ella Thompson Lott went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Jan. 6, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Ella was born in Corsicana on June 20, 1927 to Albert and Susie McMichael. While living in Corsicana, she graduated salutatorian of her class at Corsicana High School. She was a caseworker for the Corsicana State Home for more than 20 years. In 1975, Ella and her first husband, Bob Thompson, moved to Fairfield, where they owned and operated Thompson Water Company. In 1994, Ella lost her husband, Bob, and her son Larry Dan Thompson. Then, in 1996, she married the second love of her life, James David Lott. She continued to be active in the First United Methodist Church of Fairfield and enjoyed playing numerous rounds of golf with her husband and dear friends. Ella and David also enjoyed traveling and playing bridge together. She and David spent 10 wonderful years together; she called David “her time to dance.” She was a very special person who touched the hearts of everyone that she met. She is survived by her husband, J. David Lott; son and daughter-in-law, Ron Thompson and Kathy Reed; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Johnny Horton; stepson and wife Jim and Dalene Lott; stepdaughter and husband Brian and D’lynn Butler; sister and brother-in-law Susie and Morton Belvin; granddaughters Betsy Storm, Robin and Gary Hill, Shari and Clayton Harris, Holli and Ross McNeill, Lisa and Joey White, Misti and Jason Gryder, Rachel Butler and Leslie Butler; grandsons Scott Horton, Blake Lott, Josh Butler and Christian Butler; and great- grandchildren Megan Lee, Keith Leerskov, Ryan Leerskov, Cole Harris, Cate Harris, Zachary McNeill, Allison McNeill, Travis Myers, Caden White, Carson White, Corben White and Garrett Hill. Mrs. Lott was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Robert “Bob” Thompson; son Larry Dan Thompson; grandson Chris Thompson; and her brother, Albert McDaniel. Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
