MRS. J. C. THORNTON 
DIES EARLY MONDAY; 
FUNERAL TUESDAY 

Mrs. John C. Thornton, aged 86 years, died at her home In the Steward's Mill 
community, northeast Freestone county, Monday morning at 8 o'clock. Funeral 
services are planned from the family , home Tuesday afternoon. Except for a few 
years spent In Corsicana, Mrs. Thornton had spent her life In Steward's Mill. 
Mr. and Mrs. Thornton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last December 
24. Surviving are her husband, a son, Carder Thornton, both of Steward's Mill: 
two daughters, Miss Sue Thornton and Mrs. Sarah Thornton, both of Oklahoma; a 
sister, Miss Martha Bonner, Steward's Mill, and other relatives.
