Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder - Friday, March 12, 1926 THREE OLD RESIDENTS PASS AWAY After a long period of declining health caused by the infirmities of old age [actual repeats "age"], Mr. Joe Newelll, 81, died last Friday night at the home of his son, Wade E. Newell, in Fairfield. Burial was in the Cotton Gin cemetery the following day. Deceased had been a resident of Freestone County for about 65 years, and was a Confederate veteran. He is survived by his wife, four sons, and one daughter: Mrs. George Pyburn, of Angleton; J. S. Newell, of Wortham; W. E. Newell, of Fairfield; Clifford Newell, of Lanely, and Joe Newell, Jr. MRS WM. DAY Mrs. Wm. Day, 72, a pioneer resident of the eastern section of Freestone County, died last Sunday at the home of her only child, Charlie Day, in the Turlington cmmunity. Burial was in the Day burial ground, about three miles North of Turlington, Eld. Herbert McKissick conducting services. MRS. WM. ANDERSON Mrs. William Anderson, aged about 80 years and a long time resident of Freestone County, died last Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. R. Claridge in the Turlington Community. Burial was in the old Mt. Zion Cemetery, Rev. I. O. Dent conducting services. Deceased is survived by the following children, Mrs. D. R. Claridge, Jim, Jess, Arch, Neil and Winston Anderson.
