Her parents were Millard Carroll and Augusta (Gussie) Demus. Additional figures in her life were Arthur Sanders and Era Piper. All have preceded her in death. She had three sisters: Erma Sanders Hollis, Vert Sanders, Vance and Jose Carroll Livingston. Two sisters have preceded her in death. Bobbie Jean married Louis Davis and to this union five children were born: Louis Davis, Jr., Lawrence Davis, Harold Davis, Gloria Davis, and Leonard Davis. There was a second marriage to A.J. Bell and to this union one child was born: Joyce Bell. There was a third marriage to Rev. R. S. Tinnon and to this union three children were added; Rosetta Tinnon, Carolyn Tinnon and Samuel Tinnon. One child has preceded her in death. Bobbie graduated from Furney Richardson High School and attended Austin Beauty College. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Union Primitive Baptist Church of Mexia, Texas. Bobbie Jean first began playing the piano at the Union Primitive Baptist Church. Over the years, Bobbie has been church pianist to the following churches: 12th. Streeet B.C., Webberville Ebenezer B.C., St. Paul P.B.C., New Light Ebenezer B.C.,Ulit Avenue B.C., St. Luke, B.C., St. John Regular B.C., Gildon Creek 1st B.C., and Rehoboth P.B.C. She was a faithful servant to all in this capacity. Bobbie has also been piano teacher to many accomplished musicians in the city. Her ultimate dream became a realty when she opened B.J. Gospel Music Shop. She served Austin and the surrounding area for over 25 years as supplier of the latest in church music, literature and materials. From that time on, she was affectionately referred to as"B.J." and her original shop motto was, "If we don`t have it, we will get it!" Bobbie was a faithful member of the Rehoboth Primitive Baptist Church. She was the church pianist, a member of the Senior Mission, and a Mother on the Deaconess & Mothers Board. She was also pianist to the El Bethel District Primitive Baptist Association Chorus for many years. Over the years, Bobbie has also participated in numerous singing groups: the Evans Sisters, the Austin Chapter of the Gospel Workshop of America, and the Texas Mass Choir. Also, to her credit, a workshop choir is named in her honor: the B.J. Tinnon New Music Seminar Choir. Mother B.J. Tinnon was active in the church and her business until her health began to decline. Bobbie departed this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Walnut Hills Convalescent Center. She leaves to cherish her memories the following: Children - Louis (Marie)_. Lawrence(Sheila), Harold Gloria (Elbert), Leonard, Carolyn, Joyce (Charles), and Samuel (Denice). She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchilren, relatives, and friends to cherish her loving memories.
