Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle Obituaries, 07/16/09 Issue ROBERT (FRED) TUCKER Funeral services for Mr. Robert (Fred) Tucker, 68, were held on Friday, July 10, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Darrel Beggs officiated and interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Robert (Fred) was born in Corsicana, Texas, grew up in Teague and graduated from Teague High School with the Class of 1959. He owned and operated a heating and air conditioning business from 1971 until 2006. He worked for Teague I.S.D. for over nineteen years and was the Director of Maintenance at the time of his death. Mr. Tucker was known by his children and grandchildren as "Big." He was a member of the infamous "Round Table," a group of men that ate lunch together every day for several years in Teague and paid dues and raised money for local causes including scholarships. Recently he looked forward to drinking coffee early every morning with his friends at Daniel's on 4th Street. In his spare time he loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Tucker was a member of Cotton Gin Masonic Lodge #154 and a member of First Baptist Church in Teague. He passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. Fred Tucker is survived by his wife of over forty-one years, Jean Tucker, of Teague; his daughters Paige Day and husband Chuck of Grapevine, Meredith Evans and husband John of Houston and Ashley Wiles and husband Mark of Austin; her grandchildren Skylar Day, Landon Day, Brody Day and Camden Evans; his mother Edna White of Temple; his sister Betty Ann Barrington of Corpus Christi; his father and mother-in-law Billy and Marie McSpadden of Teague; his sister-in-law Karen Whitaker and husband Wayne of Teague; his faithful dog Baby (Tacky); other relatives and friends.
