Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [A. B. Turner] Fairfield Recorder December 16, 2010 A.B. TURNER Funeral services will be held Friday at Capps Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. for A.B. Turner, 71, of Fairfield who died Dec. 4 in Tyler. Interment will follow at a later date in Stewards Mill Cemetery. Turner was born Nov. 25, 1939 in Houston County near Latexo to Albert and Birdie Mae Weisinger Turner. He was a graduate of Latexo high school and Tyler Commercial College. Turner was involved in the commercial freight business in East Texas before moving to Fairfield in 1980 to manage Red Arrow Freight Terminal and oversee family ranching interests. He was also a Freestone county Justice of the Peace. Turner enjoyed music and telling stories and is known for his hospitality and sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Turner is survived by his son Justin K. Turner of Fairfield; grandchildren Brandi Holcomb of Tyler, Ashley Turner of Fairfield, and Brett Turner of Fairfield; great-grandson Ayden Jones of Fairfield; sisters Christine Shulman of Latexo, Billie Jones of Crockett, and Valta Engstrand of Elkhart; four nephews, four nieces and ex-wife Jo Olive Watson Turner of Fairfield. Honorary pallbearers are Morris Schulman, Mark Shulman, Craig Schulman, Willie Wofford, Jr., Marvin Bland, James Whatley, David Rousch, and William Jacoby. Officiating services is the Rev. Terry Skinner. Making arrangements is Capps Memorial Chapel.
