Mexia Daily News - Aug. 5, 2003 edition Betty Turner Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Utsey Cox Turner, 64, of Mexia, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel-Teague. Jimmy Utsey, a first cousin of Mrs. Turner, officiated. Burial was in Dew Cemetery. Mrs. Turner, who died Thursday at her residence, was born Aug. 24, 1938, in Freestone County. She had resided for most of her life in Teague, then later moved to Mexia. She had also lived in Henderson and Kilgore and was affiliated with First Presbyterian Church at Henderson. She loved watching the Texas Rangers play baseball, worked as an LVN for many years at Henderson Memorial Hospital, at McGee Nursing Home in Teague, and also worked as a dispatcher for the Henderson Police Department. She enjoyed three years of marriage to Guy Turner, until being separated by his death. She also was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Utsey. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Victor Villarreal of Fairfield, Susan and Gerry Cox of Mexia, and Kay and Mark Charchio of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Estelle Utsey; three sisters - Dane Maldonado of New Braunfels, Vernell Lee of Teague and Jean Wragge of Navarro Mills Lake; three brothers - Pat Utsey of Albuquerque, N.M., Lynn Utsey and David Utsey, both of Teague; and a special uncle, Nathan Utsey of Teague.
