Mexia Daily News - Dec. 21, 2005 edition Mika Collette Turner Funeral Services for Mika Collette Turner, age 35, of Dew will be held 10:00 am Thursday morning, Dec. 22, 2005, at Blair Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Max Burkhead officiating. Interment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Mika was born in Mexia, Texas, May 28, 1970 and died at her home in Dew, Texas, December 19, 2005 where she has lived for the past 15 years. She worked as a lab technician and was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Coy Russell Turner, son Cole Russell Turner, mother Vicki Smith, father Mike Little, sisters Kendal Anne Grubwald Owen, Sunni Jo Grunwald, paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. A. N. (Boob) Little. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Adams, Jr. Mika Turner, Our beloved daughter and sister. My devoted wife, mother and friend. Mika Turner was all of these and so much more. She loved her family and adored the many friends. Their western lifestyle, she cherished them all. Since her youth, Mika was in the Kansas High School Rodeo Association competing in the girls breakaway as well as the boys in the team roping. Mika was loyally devoted to riding, ropin’, and her horses. She later married Coy Turner of Teague, Texas, a fellow team roper. She was an active member of the National Barrel Horse Association and competed in many local barrel racing events. Mika shared her passion for rodeo by hauling her young, only son Cole Russell, and was a proud supporter in the Texas Youth Ranch Rodeos. From her painting’s to videos, to barrel races accompanied by her mother and friends. She was the rock of our family and will be deeply missed. Pallbearers are Daryle Copeland, Jeff Yates, Jamie Long, Lloyd, Lane, Danny Clyde Turner and Terry Cotton. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Turner, D. C. Turner, Randy Smith, J. R. McClelland, and Greg Smith. The family will have visitation tonight from 5-7 pm at Blair Stubbs Funeral Home.
