Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle May 24, 2007 issue ELSIE WILLIAMS TURNER Mrs. Elsie Williams Turner passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007, in Houston, Texas. She was 87 years old. Elsie was born in Freestone County on March 25, 1920, to Henry Williams and Imogene Manning Williams, the third of five children. Mrs. Turner was a graduate of Teague High School and resided in the area until 1942 when she moved to Houston. Mrs. Turner was formerly employed by the University of Texas Dental School. She was a supervisor in the Clinical Science Department at the time of her retirement. Mrs. Turner was a member of Houston's First Baptist Church for 63 years. During recent years, she served with her husband as Inreach Leaders in the Crown Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Finis S. Turner, her daughter Sharon L. Turner of Houston and her brother Henry G. Williams of Teague, Texas. Elsie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the chapel of First Baptist Church with interment following at Forest Park West Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
