Mable Jewell Utsey
December 13, 1912 - November 4, 2014

Mable Jewell Utsey, 101, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 
2014 in Tyler where she had been living for the past ten years.

Mrs. Utsey was born December 13, 1912 in Freestone County to parents John Willard 
and Cora Lee Missildine Moore. She married Oscar V. Utsey on March 30, 1935 in 
Freestone County and he preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Utsey was a long time 
member of New Life Assembly of God Church and taught Sunday School for twenty 
years. She loved cooking, especially for bereaved families in the community. She 
was well known for her Italian Cream Cake sold at many cake sales. In addition 
to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister 
and a grandson.

Left to cherish her memory is three children, James Dalton Utsey and wife Sidney 
P. of Tyler; Michael D. Utsey and wife Glenda of Eugene, OR; Rebecca Utsey 
Anderson of Tyler; two sisters, Faye Childs of Fairfield and Peggy DeBorde of 
Houston; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
