Mexia Daily News - May. 15, 2004 edition Ronald Dale VanDyken Ronald Dale VanDyken, 53, of Wortham, died Wednesday at his residence. He had resided in Wortham for the past four years, and for eight years served as an Aircraft Mechanic for the U.S. Army. Later he worked for Piedmont Air. Mr. VanDyken, born Dec. 16, 1950, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was a member of Lancaster Post 4694, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation is scheduled for this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home-Mexia. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lucille Liles of Mexia; a daughter, Theresa Lynn VanDyken of Newburn, North Carolina; and a sister, Lorene Kay Banning of Mexia. Funeral services for Mr. VanDyken will be held Sunday afternoon at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Tom Prentiss of First Christian Church. Burial will be in Mexia Cemetery. Pallbearers are Edward (Dick) Massey, Bill Lee, Manuel Hernandez, James Marcum, Carm Hoyne and Chet Frodelius. Designated as honorary pallbearers are Barry Sterling, Dillard Bereman, Zeke Rhodes, Neil Windland and Sharon Jennings.
