Stella Vaughan

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 1978 at Capps Funeral
Chapel for Mrs. Stella Jewel Vaughan.  Min Elroy Cooper officiated the services.
  Mrs. Vaughan, 87, was born near Fairfield in Freestone County, December 14,
1890 and died in Teague General Hospital July 17, 1978.
  She lived all of her life in Freestone County.  Most of this time was in 
Fairfield.  She was united in marriage to Walter M. Vaughan in 1918 at Teague,
Texas.  He preceded her in death in 1967.  She was also preceded in death by
four brothers and three sisters.
  Mrs. Vaughan wasa member of The Church of Christ.
  Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Travis (Eurline) Stripling of 
Fairfield; two grandsons, Travis Earl Stripling of Houston, and Walter Lane
Stripling of Houston.
  Pallbearers were Sam Moore, Charlie Lopez, Johnny Jenkins, Ronnie Crossno,
L.V. Jones, and Larry Smith.
  Interment was in Fairfield cemetery.
  Capps Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
