"Lou' Vinet, 63, of Conroe, Texas, and formerly of Dallas, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Lamar & Smith Funeral Chapel in Dallas, with burial at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman, in Freestone County. He died Friday of cancer. Vinet, a native of New Orleans, was a World War II veteran. In 1945, he joined the Texas & Pacific Railroad in Dallas and worked his way from secretary to director of industrial development. The railroad merged in 1976 with the Missouri Pacific, and Vinet moved to Houston in 1977 when Missouri Pacific consolidated its industrial development division. In 1982, the railroad merged with Union Pacific Corp. Vinet retired last year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clesie (Ruth) Vinet; his son, Daniel, of Grand Prairie; and his brother, Allen Vinet, of Chalmette, La.
