Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Voskamp, Earl L. of Hutchins. Age 57. Died 12/25/1978 of cancer in Eagle Lake Community Hospital after a long illness. Services held (Wed.) in St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbus. Burial in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery, Columbus. He was born 11/24/1921 in New Ulm to M/M. Louis A. Voskamp. Married Jo Anne Thomas in 1943. He was a mechanical engineering graduate of Texas A&M Univ. and a WW-2 veteran of the Army Air Corps, flying 5 B-20 bomber missions in the Pacific Theatre. He was a construction engineer for Alcoa's Rockdale Works smelter, built in the early 1950's and transfered to Industrial Generating Co., power supplier for Alcoa, in May of 1953. He was elevated to the Fuel Department Supt. and became IGC General Supt. in 1966, as well as an IGC vice- president. When Texas Utilities Generating Company was formed, Earl transferred to Big Brown at Fairfield in 1970, as General Supt. In 1974 he moved to Dallas as TUGCO vice-president with responsibilities over company- wide mining, maintenance and operations. Survivors: Wife, Jo Anne Voskamp of Hutchins; 2 sons, Wayne G. Voskamp of Baytown and Thomas A. Voskamp of Katy; daughter, Mrs. Roy (Susan) Mobley of Hutchins; parents, M/M. Louis A. Voskamp of Columbus and 4 grandchildren.
