Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - May. 14, 2004 edition Norman Walker Graveside services for Norman (Glen) Walker, 79, of Donie, will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Wilson Chapel Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Benny Mize, associate pastor of Fairfield First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Wilson Chapel Cemetery, under direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home of Teague. Mr. Walker, born in Donie on Feb. 4, 1925, died in Navarro Regional Hospital-Corsicana. He was a lifelong resident of Donie, was a Baptist and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Walker was a construction contractor. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a son, Neil Walker, in 1980. Visitation is scheduled for this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home-Teague. Surviving are his wife, Margie Walker of Donie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe G. and Kay Walker of Teague, Lee Wayne and Jackie Walker of Donie; a daughter and son-in-law, Darinda and James Howard of Donie; grandchildren - April Hedrick, Aaron Griffith, Clint Walker, Robin Walker, Lee Neil Walker, Julie Walker, Jessica Howard and Casey Keaton May; and great-grandchildren - Kendal Griffith, Kassidy Griffith and Reid Krenek. Pallbearers are Lee Neil Walker, Aaron Griffith, Clint Walker, Wayland Oakes, Craig Oakes, Jose Villa and Tommie Oaks. Designated as honorary pallbearers are Billy Wills, William Savage, Sonny Sheppard, Sid Fryer, Bill Rutherford, Bill Turner, Don Turner, Jack Huffman, Jay Huffman, Al Tisdale and Billy Beene.
