Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle Dec. 6, 2007 page 4A GLADYS FRANCES MOODY WALTERS Mrs. Gladys Frances Moody Walters, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died on Sunday, November 25, 2007, at her home. She was 89 years old. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, in the chapel of the Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City. Rev. Hartie Higgins officiated and burial took place on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at Union Cemetery in Teague, Texas. Gladys was born on March 24, 1918, in Donie, Texas, the daughter of Irvin and Sophie Culbuth Moody. She attended school in Donie where she graduated from high school. She continued her education at Houston Business School and earned an associate degree. She met Donald George Walters in a small café and was immediately smitten. Just two weeks later, they were wed. For 61 years they never left each other’s side. They owned and operated the Osage County Tag Agency for 38˝ years. Gladys was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time at home on the family ranch and greatly enjoyed raising her longhorn cattle. Gladys loved the springtime when the calves were born and she also enjoyed being around children. Family members include her son Jim and wife Christina Walters and her granddaughter Lucy Walters. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 2007.
