Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Marie (Anderson) Ward Marie Ward, 67, of Bokchito, Okla. passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 at her residence. Funeral services were 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Durant, Okla. with the Rev. James Robinson and the Rev. John Riggs officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Ward, Patrick Ward, Charles Nicholson, Floyd Anderson, Don Welch and Gene Loftis. Another service will be held at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Streetman with the Rev. Mickey Loftis officiating. Visitation will be held before the service from 3:30 to 4 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Birdston Cemetery. Mrs. Ward was born Nov. 1, 1932 in Streetman to Guy Anderson and Arra (Richmond) Anderson. She married Fred Ward on June 20, 1949 in Corsicana. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Durant. She was a homemaker and a great helper to her pastor husband in the ministry. She taught Sunday School and was very active in her church work. She was a board member of the Senior Citizen Center of Bokchito. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, G. R. Anderson and Ernie Anderson; and sister, Matti Faye Stribrick. Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, Fred Ward; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Debbie Ward of Missouri City and Greg and Linda Ward of Texline; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Beth and Whit Walker of Amarillo; brothers, Robert Anderson of Malakoff and Max Anderson of Hemet, Calif.; sisters, Gladys Rouse of Streetman and Edna Hodge of Eureka; and seven grandchildren.
