Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Estelle T. Watson (February 28, 1914 - March 19, 2007) Estelle T. (Tubb) Watson Funeral services for Mrs. Estelle T. Watson were held on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in the chapel at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Rev. Barron Harris officiated. Interment followed the services at New Salem Cemetery in Leon County. Mrs. Watson passed away on Monday, March 19, 2007 in Pearland at the Windsong Village Convalescent Center. She was born on February 28, 1914 in Teague to Benjamin “Dutch” Tubb and Gussie Bell Tubb. She attended school in Jewett and later married Ike Watson on March 18, 1944 in Teague. Mrs. Watson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jewett for many years. She loved to read her Bible and listen to gospel music; enjoyed sewing, bird watching (especially hummingbirds) and loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by three sons, Joe Douglas Watson, John Thomas Watson & wife Nyla, and Carson Elliott Watson & wife Kristi; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Johanna Watson Synder & husband Mike, Paula Ann Watson Haydon & husband Jeffrey, Tammy Watson Huthmacher & husband Reed, Joe Douglas Watson, Jr., and Kimberley Schoeneman & husband Vance; eleven great-grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Synder, Paul Eric Watson & wife Stacey, Faith Schoeneman, Hope Schoeneman, Troy Terry, Marcus Terry, Jacob Paul, Summer Haydon, Addie Estelle Haydon, Christian Saucedo, and Faith Huthmacher; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike Watson; parents, Benjamin “Dutch” and Gussie Bell Tubb; granddaughter, Carla Ruth Watson; two sisters, Mary Sherman and Fannie Tubb; three brothers, James Theodore Tubb, Albert Troy Tubb, and Archie Tubb; an adopted brother, Buster Evans Tubb; and three infant brothers, Wilmer Seperior Tubb, Robert Richard Tubb, and Barny Hail Tubb.
