RITES PENDING FOR ODESSAN

Sherman Watson, 47, of 608 Prairie, died at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday
in Medical Center Hospital following a two-week illness.

He was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Freestone County.  He married 
Lucienda Cooper in Midland on May 15, 1948.  He came to Odessa
in 1947 from Fairfield.  Watson served in the U.S. Army and
was a member of Jehovah Witness and the American Legion.

Watson, a construction worker, was a 14-year employe[e] of
McVean and Barlow.

Survi[v]ing are his wife of the home; his mother, Fanny Carter
of Los Angeles; five sisters, all of Los Angeles.  Mrs. 
Juanita White, Mrs. Joyce Jones, Mrs. Narvell Williams,
Mrs. Rosie L. Tolles, Mrs. Jerlima Jackson; four brothers,
Frank Watson of Dallas, Dennis Watson of Seagraves, Henry Carter
and Crawford Frantroy, both of Los Angeles.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
