Mexia Daily News - Jan. 15, 2005 edition Travis Webb TEAGUE - Funeral services for Travis Webb, 92, of Teague, were conducted Sunday afternoon, Dec. 26, at 4 o'clock in First Baptist Church; officiating were the Rev. Darrel Beggs and Larry Morris. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, under direction of Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home. Mr. Webb, born Nov. 30, 1912, in Teague, died Dec. 24, 2004, at Parkview Regional Hospital-Mexia. Mr. Webb loved his family and friends, and especially loved being a "Granddad" and "Great-Granddad." He enjoyed ranching and loved spending time at "Webb Bottom." A lifelong resident of Teague, he was a member of First Baptist Church for over 48 years, where he was a member of the Mustard Seed Sunday School Class, a member of the Methodist Men's Club, and was a charter member of the Sheriff's Association of Texas and a member of the United Transportation Union for 67 years. In 1987 he was recipient of the Boyd Cup, received a certificate as an "Outstanding Older Texan" awardee from the Over 55 Center in Teague, where he delivered Meals on Wheels when his health permitted. Mr. Webb was a faithful supporter of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Amarillo. Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Marguerite Webb. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Travis Ann and Jerry Dorough of Parker, Martha and Jerry Cook of Ennis, and Mary and Don Lee of Teague; three granddaughters - Lei Ann Stovall and husband Jon of Frisco, Lindy Stacks and husband Colin, and Christi Webb of Teague; a great-granddaughter, Ainslee Stovall of Frisco; special caregivers - Jerry James, Johnny Rich and Linnis Gatson. Pallbearers were Craig Oakes, Johnny Rich, Billy Turner, Donny Turner, Randy Stacks and Clydell Webb. Designated as honorary pallbearers were J.E. McIntire, Jon Stovall, Colin Stacks, Clay Kimball, Charles Ray Jones, Jerry James, Jan Harrison, Dr. Kenneth Russell, retired employees of the Railroad, Dwain Barger, and members of the Mustard Seed Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Consideration - An Art So Rare - These are special words for all of the special family and friends that Travis shared "Webb Bottom with."
