Joe West, age 69, of Trinity, Texas, were held on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity. Rev. Horace Fletcher officiated. Mr. West passed away in Lufkin on Thursday, August 24, 2006. Mr. West was born in Freestone County on April 26, 1937, and grew up in Teague. A rancher, Mr. West had lived in Trinity for several years. He was a member of the Lions Club, Trinity Area Go Texan Committee, the Sheriffs Posse, and was a member of the Houston Rodeo Association for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie F. and Pearl C. West and by a granddaughter, Twana Joe West. He is survived by his wife, Peggie West; his children, Rocky Joe West and wife Lisa and Shannon West, and four grandchildren, Zach, Rocky II, Ashleigh and James. Also surviving are three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy Morton and husband Buck of Mexia, June Alexander and husband Carl of Streetman, and Barbara Crane and husband Dale of Elkhart.
