Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper Lila Mae (Willis) West Funeral services were held earlier this month for Lila Mae West, 56, of Butler who died Tuesday, April 1. Ms. West was born in Freestone county on June 28, 1951 to parents Adam and Oseline Willis. She attended school in Butler and graduated from high school in 1969. Ms. West also attended Fairfield barber school and was member of the Butler Alumni Association and the NAACP. She worked as mental retardation assistant for over 20 years at the Mexia State School. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7, at the First Baptist Church of Fairfield with Rev. Darrell Houston officiating. The eulogy was given by L.J. Manning and interment followed at Shiloh Cemetery in Oakwood. Ms. West is survived by sons Bernard McGee and Kinte West; mother Oseline Willis Wade; brother Clois Dean "Jerri" Wade; nieces Kisha, Anna and Ashley Wade; nephews Clois Wade, Jr., Quincey Edwards, Adam Wade and Joshua Jones; great nieces Jazmine and Laela; and aunts Ailene Mims, Barbara Butts, Eula Bills, Climmie Sanders, Elvira Perry and Harriet Relerford. She is preceded in death by father Adam Wade; sister Alzadia Nary; and grandparents Robert and Gertrude Wade. Arrangements by Emmanuel Funeral Home of Teague.
