Marlene (Gilliam) West

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Marlene West, 79, of Donie who died 
Monday, Jan. 19, at East Texas Medical Center Fairfield.

Mrs. West was born in Cotton Gin on Feb. 27, 1929 to Joe and Pearl Gilliam. She 
was a lifelong resident of Freestone county.

On Feb. 24, 1951, she married Lee Roy West and together the couple shared over 
57 years of marriage.

Mrs. West was an avid reader and a loyal subscriber to several area papers.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Interment followed at Post Oak Cemetery in Donie with Paul Pryor officiating.

Mrs. West is survived by her husband, Lee Roy West; son, Kevin West and wife 
Kim; and grandsons, Blake and Dustin West, all of Donie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
