Groesbeck Journal - March 23, 2006 Also, The Teague Chroncile - March 23, 2006 Miss Suni Elyse Wharton Suni Elyse Wharton Funeral Services Held March 17 On March 13th at approximately 4:30 p.m. Suni Wharton left this earthly world in a flash to take her place with her Heavenly Father for the rest of eternity. Born on January 5th, 1988 in Waco, Texas, Suni Elyse Wharton started a long and endearing journey that touched everyone she met. With a vibrant smile, and explicit imagination Suni found living life was more than just getting by, she enjoyed bringing joy to all. Suni graduated from GHS in 2005 and was a freshman at Navarro College. She is survived by her parents, Stuart and Sherry Wharton; brothers, Shane Wharton and Casey Wharton; boyfriend, Garrett Whittington; grandmothers, Meldene Wharton and Faye Seale; grandfather, Albert Seale, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Suni thoroughly enjoyed her job at Imagene White Real Estate because the two of them fit together like two old shoes. Her job and school were what she did, but not who she was. Who she was is more than words could ever say. She loved every minute of every moment. God was her foundation, her family was her life, and her heart belonged to Garrett Whittington of Teague. She loved to make others happy, although she was naturally happy, it simply made her happier when she had the opportunity to brighten someone's day. Her ambitions led her to try new things, and never to be afraid of anything. Her parents, Stuart and Sherry Wharton, were the best parents any kid could ask for. It was their example that taught her to appreciate the small things and to be her own person. They also taught Suni to not be ashamed of who she was, or where she came from, and if they could tell her anything it would be they love her, and she filled their life with joy. She loved to write, she loved to travel, and especially loved to live. Each day was a new adventure that she tackled with a smile. Life is not measured by the amount of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. That is how Suni Elyse Wharton lived her life, and that is how she will be remembered. A scholarship fund has been established at First National Bank in Groesbeck in honor of her memory. Casey Wharton ~~~~~~~ Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday March 17 at the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck with Rev. Tracy Sims officiating. Burial followed in Fort Parker Memorial Park. Arrangements by Groesbeck Funeral Home.
