Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chroncile - Sept. 13, 2012 issue Mary Frances Whitaker Mary Frances Whitaker, 90, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 in Fairfield. Services were 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Skinner officiating assisted by Father Carlo Benjamin P. Magnaye, MF, of Mexia. Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Capps Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Whitaker was born November 21, 1921 in Fairfield; to parents Tom and Ada Onezia Keller Donaldson. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School. In 1942 she married Steward Whitaker who preceded her in death in 2004. In 1983 Mrs. Whitaker retired from GTE where she had been a cashier. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as adult secretary of the General Sunday School Office for many years. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers were Jerry Don McLeod, Gary Stephenson, Buddy Mullen, Marvin Mullen, Mark Chavers, Tommy Miller, Elton Moore, Purvis Black, Dennis Lane, Bill McGirk, Larry Davis and Curtis Red; the Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory is one son, Randall Whitaker and wife Connie; two grandchildren, Monica Whitaker Franklin and husband Brad; Brian Whitaker and wife Sally; four great-grandsons, Brant Whitaker; Tobie, Luke and Nate Franklin, all of Fairfield.
