Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Joe Luther White Joe Luther White, 86, of Kerens, left this life to be with his Lord and Savior Monday evening May 10, 2021. He was born August 16, 1934 in Kerens, Texas to Joe Havron White and Ruth Inez Jones White. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Velma Inmon White, sons Edward Lee White (Susan) of Gilmer and Joe Luther White, Jr. (Jennifer) of Ft. Worth, grand children Lindsey White (Maryanne) of Galveston, Daniel White (Stephanie) of Gilmer and Kristin Hansen (Ben) of Ft. Worth, great grand children Bryce Meadows, Turner, Reed and Wade Hansen, and Lander White, brother G. H. White, nephew Wes White (Carman) and great nephew Cole White of Cleveland. Joe began working at an early age building airplanes for LTV and later as a truck driver for Baird's Bakery, then Groendyke Transport. He worked at Hughes Tool and construction companies R.E. Hable and A.L. Helmcamp. He was a welding supervisor for TDC in Teague and was last employed by Navarro County Pct. 2. Joe was a member of Powell Baptist Church in Powell for more than 20 years. Joe was a Mason for 63 years, a Past Master of Mansfield Lodge #331, Kerens Lodge #236 and a member of Corsicana Lodge #174. He served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 110th Masonic District and served on various Grand Lodge committees. He was a member of Corsicana Chapter 118 Order of the Eastern Star, serving 5 times as Worthy Patron and had numerous Grand Chapter appointments. Joe was a member and a past president of Kerens Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of the Navarro County Volunteer Firefighters Assoc. when it was organized in 1980. The visitation is planned for Sunday afternoon May 16th 3-5 p.m. at Paschal Funeral Home in Kerens. Funeral and Masonic services are Monday morning, May 17th at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Kerens with Pastor Morris Holcomb of Powell Baptist Church and the Masons officiating. Pallbearers will be Sonny Bancroft, Randy Bancroft, Don Hagens, Mike Lang, Allen Lundy, Allen R. Lundy, Paul Lundy and Larry Paul.
