James Thomas White  

James Thomas White passed away Aug. 14 at Providence Hospital Waco among loving 
family and devoted friends. Viewing was held Friday, August 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 
p.m. at the funeral home. 
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Missionary Baptist 
Church, Teague with pastor Rev. E.O. Riley as eulogist and Rev. Gary M. Renfro 
officiating. Interment was at Salem Cemetery. 
Mr. White, a native of Hollandale, Mississippi was born May 30, 1928, and retired from 
Ford Motor Co. in Chicago, Illinois. 
He was a deacon at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Teague. Survivors include his wife 
Vera Philpott White, Teague, sons Rory White, Mexia, James White, Jr., Waco, Kenneth 
White and wife, Carolyn, Mexia, Reginald Bell and wife, Marilyn, Waco, Keith White 
Sr., Austin, and Durand White, Mexia; 
Siblings David Flowers, Rockford, Illinois, Thomas Flowers, Winamac, Indiana, Dester 
Flowers, Roosevelt Flowers, Percy Flowers and Frank Flowers, all of Chicago, Illinois, 
17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and 
friends.
