Williams of Donie were held on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 10:00a.m. in the Chapel at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home. Rev. David White officiated. Mr. Williams passed away on Monday, August 21, 2006 in Teague. B.J. Williams was born in Donie, attended the Donie and Buffalo schools then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service, he married Mary in Teague in 1952 and went to work in Waco for the General Tire Company where he was employed for thirty-four years. After retiring, he moved back to Donie and became known as the town "handyman". He was the caretaker of Post Oak Cemetery for many years and spent countless hours working on the grounds there. Mr. Williams was a member of the Donie Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-four years, Mary Williams of Donie; two sons, Joe Williams & wife, Robyn of China Spring and Jerry Williams of Woodville; seven grandchildren, Jake Williams of Stephenville, Tye Williams and Whitney Post both of Waco, Haylee and Shelby Williams both of China Spring, Holly Williams of Crockett, and Dusty Williams of Donie; one sister, Bess Allen Williams of Teague, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Amie Williams; one sister, Lois Nanny; and two brothers, Dink Williams and J. C. Williams.
