Willard were held at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Don Pruitt, pastor of the church, and Rev. D. Dewey Morgan, pastor of Caney Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Lakes Chapel Cemetery near Fairfield. Born in Freestone County Jan. 4, 1898, Mr. Willard died following a short illness at Navarro County Memorial Hospital in Corsicana Saturday, Feb. 12. He was the son of the late Ben and Elizabeth Yates Willard. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had been associated with the automobile business in Fairfield and Teague much of his life, employed by Hall-Owens Ford Company in Teague at the time of his death, Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Willard of Fairfield; one son, Dale Willard, of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Lester Culp of Austin and Mrs. William A. Stroud of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers, Vernon Willard and Tommie Willard, both of Fairfield, and Joe Willard of Duncanville; and three sisters, Mrs. Tom Bonner, Mrs. Florence Childs, and Mrs. Morris Ritter, all of Fairfield; and many friends and other relatives. Pallbearers included C. L. Mullen, Carmel Blakely, Pete Davidson, Edd Bonner, Charlie Lambert and Travis Bonner. Capps Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
