Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [Truey Willard died on Sunday, July 26, 1985, in Dallas; her funeral was held in the First Baptist Church in Wortham on Tuesday, July 29, 1985. ] Mrs. Willard’s funeral held today in Wortham Wortham--Funeral services for Mrs. Truey Willard, 83, of Dallas, a former long- time resident of Wortham, were held today at 2 at First Baptist Church here. She died Sunday in Dallas. Born Feb. 6, 1902, in Wortham, Mrs. Willard had resided here until recently. She and her husband, Dewey Willard, operated a grocery store near Wortham for many years, and she was a sponsor and worker in the senior citizens program and an active member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Connie Gorman and Mrs. Wanda Smith of Dallas, and Joan Little of New York, N. Y.; one son, Billy Willard of Borger; one sister, Beatrice Keeling of Wortham; three brothers: Lodes Thornton of Houston, Odes Thornton of Van, and Isaac Thornton of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
