“Funeral Services Held Here Monday for R. D. Willard”

      Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church, Monday, 
March 25 [1974], for R. D. Willard who passed away suddenly here 
Saturday, March 23. Mr. Willard was born in Wortham on May 3, 1898, and 
had lived here all his life. He was a rancher.
      Rev. James Woods officiated at the services. Burial was in the 
Wortham City Cemetery with Kenneth Butler, Bobby Wilson, Gene Allen, 
Jimmy Allen, Charles Calame, and Morgan Craig as pallbearers. Honorary 
pallbearers were the deacons of the First Baptist Church.
      Survivers include his wife, Mrs. Truey Willard of Wortham, three 
daughters, Wanda Smith and Connie Gorman both of Dallas, Joan Little of 
New York City and one son Billy Willard of Borger; two granddaughters 
and seven grandsons.
      Walker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
