Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper April 23, 2009 Betty "Jean" (Arnold) Williford Funeral services were held last week for Betty "Jean" Williford, 80, of Mexia who died Sunday, April 12. Mrs. Williford was born in San Antonio on June 21, 1928 to Raymond W. "Dampy" and Betty Fisher Arnold. She was a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown and a resident of Mexia for the past 54 years. Mrs. Williford married her husband Dr. Carl E. Williford in San Antonio on June 29, 1948. She was member of the United Methodist Church participating in United Methodist Women, Dorcus Class, Garden Club and Supper Club. Mrs. Williford was also an active member of the Parkview Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Mexia with Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Interment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Mrs. Williford is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Carl E. Williford of Mexia; daughter, Karen Micheletti and husband Charlie of Fairfield; sons, Carl A. "Buddy" Williford and wife Donna and Glenn Williford and wife Cindy, all of Mexia; grandchildren, Carrie Herren and husband Mark of Snook, Kevin Micheletti and wife Nadia of Lubbock, Lou Ann Williford of Shiloh, Jean Williford, Katy Williford, Sheila Wallitsch, Brandi Ellis, Clint Williford and wife Amber, all of Mexia; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Trey Fulmer, Payton Wallitsch, Isaac Williford, Cash Ellis, Caroline Williford, Austin James Williford and Chance Herren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Chris Williford. Arrangements were made under the direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home of Mexia.
