Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - Feb 8, 2007: LOU ELLA WILLINGHAM Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Ella DuBois Willingham were held on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Jewett. Dr. Jim Riddell, Rev. Billy Bob Evans and Rev. James Engle conducted the services and interment was at Sardis Cemetery. Mrs. Willingham passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at her residence near Jewett. Lou Ella was born on May 6, 1917, in Jewett, to Charles Edward and Elizabeth Robinson DuBois. She married Arvol D. Willingham on August 26, 1944, in Indiana. She graduated from Sam Houston Teachers College in May of 1939, with a Bachelor of Science degree. She taught elementary school in Indiana, Sardis, Jewett and several schools in Houston over many years. She was a member of the Texas Retired teachers Association. She was also a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star at the West University Chapter in Houston. Mrs. Willingham enjoyed teaching school, sewing, crocheting, Bible study and loved being with her husband and friends. Mrs. Willingham is survived by her husband, of over sixty-two years, Arvol D. Willingham of Jewett, her daughters Charlotte Riddell and husband Jim of Richmond, Virginia and Linda Dean and husband Eddie of Arlington, her grandchildren Scott Riddell and wife Erica of South Berwick, Maine, Ryan Dean and wife Jennifer of Ft. Worth, David Riddell of Castle Rock, Colorado, Amanda Hosni and husband Paul of Ft. Worth, great grandchildren Avery, Joseph and Hudson, numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters LuCile Durst and Mary Lehman and her brothers Elmer DuBois, Hugh Clyde DuBois and Wiley DuBois. Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home of Jewett was in charge of the arrangements.
