Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Jan. 14, 2005 edition Maudie Wilson TEAGUE - Funeral services for Mrs. Maudie Wilson, 95, of Teague, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Taylor Chapel Church of God in Christ of Wortham. The pastor, Elder Tas Betts, will officiate. Burial will be in Wortham Cemetery, under direction of Moore's Angelic Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson, born in Ben Hur on Jan. 4, 1910, died Wednesday in Parkview Regional Hospital-Mexia. She formerly resided in Wortham, was a domestic worker and was known to be an excellent cook. Mrs. Wilson was baptized in the Solomon Chapel A.M.E. Church and faithfully attended until her health failed. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Minnie Electra and Aral Carson; a son, Wesley McGee, Jr., of Wortham; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Retha Mae Willis of Amarillo; a special great-niece, Nora Lee Walls of Teague; a special cousin, Gracie D. Harper of Fort Worth; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are James Earl Jones, Deirucs Jones, Daniyel Nellums, Bruce Jones, Frankie Lee Jones, Chris Fields, Oscar McClendon, Frederick Collins, Larry Reagler and Anthony Collins.
