Patricia Joanne (McHugh) Wood

Patricia Joanne Wood, 62, of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at
College Station Medical Center. 

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Fairfield
with Monsignor Samuel Metzger and the Rev. Peter Whitney officiating. Interment
will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. 

Mrs. Wood was born Oct. 16, 1938 in Kansas. She served as mayor of Fairfield
since May 1998. She was a retired teacher from the Fairfield Independent School
District. She was a member of the Kansas State Alumni, Fairfield Main Street
Advisory Board, IBBC and St. Bernard Catholic Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn D. Wood. 

Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wood and fiance Kerry Wilhelmi of
Hot Springs, Ark.; son, Tony Wood and wife Kristin of Early; grandchildren,
Meagan Wood and Matt Wood of Early; mother, Lucille Rusch of Bryan; and
brother, Darrell McHugh and wife Kathy of College Station. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
