Frances Horn Wood  	 	
WOOD, FRANCES HORN Born Nov. 14, 1924 in Mexia, Texas, the daughter of Dr. Fred 
W. Horn and Alta Edwards Horn of Wortham/Dallas, passed away on December 5, 
2007, in Dallas. Graduated from Wortham High School in Wortham, Texas and from 
Stephens College, Columbia Missouri; did practice teaching at the Lincoln
Demonstration School, Columbia University, New York City, NY, then graduated 
from Northwestern University, Evanston, ILL. Married Robert E. (Bob) Wood in 
1946 at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Member of HPUMC since 1942 where
she was Circle Leader, Bible Study Leader, and for the past 20 years has been a
Hospital visitor and homebound visitor for Pastoral Care. Taught and was an
executive at Dallas Country Day School for five years. Member of ZTA, Stephens
Alumnae Clubs, and Lyceum Club. Survived by sons Dr. Fred Wood, of Wichita 
Falls and Mark Wood and wife Sara of Dallas; grandchildren Ashley Gaar of Austin;
Robert and Mary Jordan Wood, of Wichita Falls and Rebecca, Jason, and Michael
Wood of Dallas. Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday at Sparkman/
Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel, Rev. Bill Smith, officiating. Private 
interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
