Mae Catherine Wood

Biography

Mae Catherine Wood died September 23, 2010 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Graveside 
services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Fairfield Cemetery 
under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mark Woodward and Rev. 
Paul Kethley officiating.

She was born November 19, 1916 in Teague, Texas. She was an educator in St. 
Elmo, Fairfield, and Kirbyville, Texas. She attended CIA which is now TWU and 
received her Masters from Sam Houston State. Mrs. Wood was a member of First 
United Methodist Church of Fairfield and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was preceded 
in death by her husband Charles Mervil Wood, her parents and two brothers, 
John Alderman, Jr. and William Alderman.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Dr. & Mrs. Don Lutes of Mt. 
Pleasant, Texas; grandson and wife Allen & Lynaia Lutes; granddaughter 
Catherine and Michael Chaumont, and great grandchildren Gabriel and Caden 
Lutes, and Elise Chaumont all of Ft. Worth, Texas. Also many nieces and 
nephews. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Methodist Mission Home 
6487 Whitley Road San Antonio, Texas 78240 or First United Methodist Church in 
Fairfield.
