Freestone County, Texas Obits The Bryan College Station Eagle - Sunday, July 2, 2006 edition Hazel 'LaRue' Wren Feb. 10, 1934 - June 30, 2006 LaRue Wren was born February 10, 1934 in Houston to Frank and Ola Mae (Outlaw) Wiggins. She lived in Houston for 35 years and 11 years in Iola where she was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, the Iola Chapter of Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Wren worked in the Grimes County tax office. For the past 10 years, she lived in Donie and worked in the Freestone County Tax Office in Fairfield. She also owned her own title transfer business for about 10 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae King; her father, Frank Wiggins; her step-father, Bill King and her brother, Frank Wiggins, Jr. Mrs. Wren died June 30, 2006 in M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. LaRue Wren is survived by her husband, Troy Lee Wren of Donie; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Troy Michael Wren of Iola and William Earle Wren and his wife, Margaret of College Station; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Reeda Jeanette Wren Robinson and her husband, Glen, of Iola and Becky Sue Wren Evans and her husband, James, of Iola; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Ann and Ernest Stephens of Iola; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty & Bevard Keele of Pearland, Jean Williams of Donie, Coree and Doris Wren of Washington, Texas and Chiney Darby of Iola; an aunt, Edith Newlin of Houston; an uncle Harry Outlaw of Tomball; thirteen grandchildren, Joseph Wren, William Wren, Rhonda Harmon, Ryan Harmon, Brett Robinson, Wren Robinson, Sarah Robinson, Cody Evans, Jamie Evans, Jody Evans, Jennifer Cadro, Dylan Wren and Madison Wren; eight great grandchildren, Maycee Harmon, Jaden Evans, Kaiden Halley, Codi Jo Halley, Kane Wren, Mason Wren, Boston Wren and Easton Evans and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for LaRue Wren are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Zion United Methodist Church in Iola. Rev. Kenneth Byrd, Rev. Don Brown and Rev. Amy Haralson will officiate and burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery. The funeral service in under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2nd. The family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will also be visitation on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church of Iola Youth Building Fund.
